Installation Manual for Sandwich Panel Walls

Sandwich panel wall installation is a prefabricated assembly construction technology. Its core lies in achieving precise fit between the panels and the structural system. The standard installation process begins with a site survey, requiring the base structure to have completed rust prevention treatment and a flatness error ≤3mm/2m. A theodolite must be used to verify the verticality of the columns, and special sealing tape must be used to treat the base joints. Panels must be stored and transported upright, using a moisture-proof pad to isolate them from the ground and ensure the core material is not deformed by pressure.

Systematic Installation Process Control

The installation phase should follow the principle of "from bottom to top, from corners to the center." The positioning of the first panel requires the assistance of a laser positioning instrument to ensure a deviation from the baseline ≤2mm. When using vacuum suction cups for hoisting, the suction area must cover more than 60% of the panel surface. Key quality control points include: anti-cold bridging gaskets must be installed at transverse joints; longitudinal overlap width ≥ 80mm; self-tapping screws should be driven perpendicular to the panel surface, with fixing spacing determined according to design load calculations (usually 300-400mm), and sealing washers should be used to achieve triple waterproofing.

Joint Treatment and Airtightness Assurance

Joint treatment adopts a systematic engineering approach: first, fill with closed-cell polyethylene foam rods, then apply neutral silicone sealant to form an elastic sealing layer. Reinforcing columns must be installed at door and window openings, and corners should use an integrated corner wrapping process. All joints must undergo specialized testing after completion: flatness must be checked using a 3m straightedge (allowable deviation ≤ 2mm), the effectiveness of the drainage system must be verified using a water spray test, and, if necessary, an infrared thermal imager must be used to scan for thermal defects.

Completion Acceptance and Long-Term Maintenance

During the completion phase, the protective film must be removed and the panel surface maintained using a neutral cleaning agent. Acceptance standards include: air exchange rate ≤ 1.5 times/h when the pressure difference is 50Pa during the airtightness test, and sound insulation performance reaching RW ≥ 40dB. The heat transfer coefficient of sandwich panel walls constructed according to standard can reach K≤0.33W/(m²·K), and the service life exceeds 25 years. This prefabricated structure not only improves construction efficiency by more than 50%, but also achieves a 90% material recycling rate through its detachable design, perfectly meeting the green building evaluation standards.

Proper execution of sandwich panel wall installation is fundamental to achieving optimal thermal performance and long-term structural integrity. By adhering to manufacturer specifications for sealing, fastening, and alignment, the building envelope will maintain its energy efficiency and durability. This meticulous approach ensures a high-quality, maintenance-free solution for industrial and commercial facilities, maximizing the return on your construction investment.
